I am having a wonderful time thumbing through different cookbooks, hoping to come up with food that everyone will enjoy - and that they will find enhances their health. I'm not a big internet browser. I prefer to hold a REAL book. I guess that's part of the reason why I'm enjoying a great book I found at the library called The Amish Cook: Recollections and Recipes from an Old Order Amish Family by Elizabeth Coblentz with Kevin Williams. Look for it.
I've mentioned before that two of us are gluten-free. Many recipes I use call for items that are filled with gluten. I just substitute the ingredients with more gut-friendly fare. For instance, I won't use the soup called for in the cheesy chicken and rice recipe. I will use a white sauce made with corn starch, milk and butter.
