Do any of you like to make soap? I tried a new recipe that I created myself and it came out wonderfully - Sweet Almond Lavender.
Here's the recipe:
Oils - 46 oz. olive oil, 18 oz. sweet almond oil, 12 oz. coconut oil, 8 oz. stearic acid
Water - 28 oz.
Lye - 12.1 oz.
Essential oil of your choice - I used lavender, 2 oz.
Heat oils and let cool to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix water and lye and let cool to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour lye water into oils and blend/stir until mixture thickens and resembles pudding. Add essential oil and stir for another minute or so. Pour into prepared soap mold and cover top with plastic wrap. Wrap entire mold in a towel and allow to set for 2 days. Cut into bars and let cure in the open for 4 weeks.
You can find more detailed directions on how to make cold pressed soap here.
