This book of colorful children's stories is the first in the Shoe Banter Collection. I enjoyed reading the short but lively stories with beautiful watercolor pictures. These stories use shoes as a tool to tell a deeper story. For instance, in "Shoe Dreams", the theme is ... about dreams and the adventures those dreams can become.
The authors, Joyce Fishman and Brenda Finne are sisters. Brenda has experience in choreography (and you can see that influence in these stories) and Joyce is an art teacher. Together, these sisters have created a whimsical collection of short stories for the very young. I think it is a good book to cuddle up with on a cold winter's night - with a toddler in your lap drinking in every word.
