Goodbye to Yesterday is written by Wanda E. Brunstetter and is published by Barbour.
Luke and Meredith Stoltzfus are a sweet married couple who face hard times due to the economic downturn that affected us all. Luke decides that the way to find financial freedom is found in Indiana, learning a new trade from his uncle. As turns out for many people, life throws in a wrench to the carefully laid out plans and Luke finds more of a tragedy than a blessing. Can he and Meredith find their way back to one another?
I enjoyed Goodbye to Yesterday. Wanda E. Brunstetter is one of my favorite writers of Amish fiction. With this story, she did not disappoint me. The book is only 121 pages and is very easy to read. Yet the plot is not so frivilous that it did not seem to be "real".
I grew up in Indiana around Amish folks and I think that Wanda does a marvelous job in portraying them and their faith. In this latest offering, she brings the nitty gritty reality of the country's financial mess into the lives of the Amish. Surely the economy has touched them too. The result is interesting and relevant. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. (this is part 1 of 6)
*I received a copy of Goodbye to Yesterday in exchange for my honest opinion.*
