Book Review - The River by Michael Neale

The River is written by Michael Neale and is published by Thomas Nelson.

A quick rundown of this marvelous story goes like this:

Gabriel Clarke has experienced a tragedy in his life, one that affects him so deeply that he is afraid to go back to the source of his grief. The River holds mystery, death, and new life in its rapids and it draws Gabriel back to his roots. Once he goes back to The River, he knows that he is finally home and doing what he has been destined to do all along. The chains come off and Gabriel Clarke experiences the freedom to be who he never thought he could be.

I couldn't get enough of this book from the moment I picked it up. I can't believe how well written and powerful it is. Michael Neale has woven together a tremendous story that challenges each of us to drink from that Living Water that sustains us and gives us life. At the back of the book is a study guide that will challenge and motivate the reader to get out of his/her comfort zone and get into The River. It would be a good read for book clubs - lots of good stuff to discuss!

If you want to blessed with a good story that relates to the spiritual life big time, pick up The River and read.

**I have received a copy of The River in exchange for my honest opinion.**

I also read and enjoyed The River. It's really a book about trusting God, letting go of past hurts so that you can move forward in life. It's an inspiring story about the possibilities that unfold when you are willing to take a risk. Life with God is meant to be an adventure--this book reminded me of that truth! Great review.
