Has it cooled down in your neck of the woods yet? Yesterday, it rained and rained and then, quite suddenly, it cooled down and the humidity left - it is now a balmy 70 degrees outside. Tomorrow I'll be able to hit the garden hard and tear out most of the tall, grassy weeds that had their way when I was too hot (and busy) to get to them. I also have green beans that are almost too big. They'll contribute to tomorrow's supper. For Harvest Green Beans, simply chop up some fresh tomato and steam along with the green beans (yes, I like them steamed rather than boiled to death). Salt, pepper, and some garlic liven the dish up.
I'll also freeze a lot of the beans in Food Saver bags. They seem to keep "fresher" longer that way for me.
