We are finding ourselves in a heat wave way up here in the north. I can live with 90 degrees and dripping moisture, but the rest of the family is having a tough time dealing with it. My motto is: We live with six months of frigid temperatures and more than a 100 inches of snow per year. If all we get is a few measly weeks of hot, muggy weather, that's just fine with me. As long as I keep my sandy garden watered, it's just fine too.
As for our menu, I'm trying to utilize slow cookers to help keep heat out of the kitchen. We do not have air conditioning except for a 25 year old window unit in our bedroom, which doesn't count for much other than a high electric bill.

I hear you! I'll take the heat {even though I'd prefer less humidity} over those frigid cold days. 6 months ago it was 33 below zero. This break is nice, even if it does necessitate we change our cooking approach :)
Great menu, never made mac & cheese in a crock pot, sounds interesting I will have google it.
Thank you for visiting me, the quiche is very tasty, and itseasy to change the filling to whatever you fancy.
