Thankful Thursday - August 5

Time for another Thankful Thursday and I'm actually early getting it written! Hooray! This has been an interesting week thus far, to say the least. We are having a record breaking summer here in the north - it's HOT here! I might add muggy too. We usually get two or three weeks of very warm weather and then enjoy temps around 70 degrees F the rest of the summer. Not this year! We are having a summer that rivals those that folks in Florida enjoy (or not).

My husband - not necessarily me - is thankful for the old window air conditioner our neighbors bestowed upon us this year. I see green $$$$$ floating out the window. He sees a comfortable night for sleeping. I'm talking in the 50's in our bedroom, where the air conditioner resides. The cold makes my joints ache and ache, bringing a difficult night for me, but my husband, who works long long days (and he's so very hot blooded) needs to get a good night's sleep. And he's getting it.

I am so very thankful for the raise my husband received at work. Combined with an increase in sales (commissions add up), this is adding up to be a better year financially. We are just about caught up on our bills and perhaps, if the momentum keeps up and doesn't drastically drop after Labor Day, as it has in the past, we can actually begin to chop off some debt. We owe so many people - a lot of medical bills this year.
