I'm going to be canning peaches all day Thursday, so I'm putting this up Wednesday night. Because of the heat that spread all over the country this summer, including here in the north, produce has ripened sooner than normal. This is the last week for peaches. Normally they run through the first couple weeks of September.
I am so thankful for the tomatoes in my garden. I praise God for sending me ripe peaches for 1/2 the price of not so ripe ones. Yeah, I'm going to be busy tomorrow (and tired), but I'll be glad when I have 1 1/2 bushels of peaches canned up for the winter. Nothing beats your own food because you know how it was processed.
As for the hot weather, it's gone for now. It is downright cold here tonight! My daughter asked to sleep in her sleeping bag to keep warm.
Blessings abound but sometimes I don't see them. Thanks to the Lord for opening my eyes when I can't do it myself. Laurie at Women Taking a Stand is hosting Thankful Thursday this month. Please give her a visit if you get the chance. You'll be blessed.

:) I posted early, too. No excuse.. just excited!
Oh, you have your work cut out for you! But, you'll sure enjoy that fruit in the dead of winter. Our weather has been wacky here.. warm, cold, hot, cold, warm, cold, then hot again! I have tomatoes on the vine.. they will ripen if we get some consistency here! Happy TT!
God bless you as you work with those peaches :)
I am sure by now you are working through those peaches are about done. How great it will be to have those this winter. They taste so good.
Hands to work, hearts to God. Sounds like your mantra for today.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
I would have loved to can peaches with you all day. Can you imagine the great conversations we would have.
I canned salsa until my head hurt last month. BUT, it's the best salsa ever and made with tomatoes from my garden.
God is good. Happy TT.
I get my peaches in another week. I freeze mine and yes they are amazing in the winter. Thanks for sharing today. Blessings!
Enjoy canning, I love peaches.
It is great to be thankful for the small things!

Oh some peaches sound good right now! We didn't produce too much from our garden this year, in the south, the heat was too hot! But I am grateful for the few things we were able to get from it. Thanks for taking time out to share your grateful heart with us this week! -Laurie
