Menu Plan Monday - August 16

How was your weekend? I had another busy one. It has been like that since our oldest son moved to the next county in order to be "in-district" for the police academy. Reason why that makes my weekends busy? He's been coming home for the weekends - with him comes dirty laundry. His bed is in my daughter's room while her bed is in his cabin (the rooms are ultra tiny). On the weekends we get an eight-year-old girl sharing our bedroom so her brother can have her room. The list goes on.

My point, I guess, is that life is busy and it goes by SO swiftly. I'm planning for another week by posting this menu, but, none of us are guaranteed another day, another hour, another minute, another moment on this earth. Sometimes we need to plan time with the Lord - above all of the other stuff that we do.

That is the biggest reason that I leave Sundays as On Your Own, in respects to my menu plan that is. I take the day to spend less time in the kitchen and more time in prayer and respecting the Sabbath. I need a day off too.

Yes, it makes everyone "work" a little by getting their own food, but we generally microwave left-overs - it uses up little bits of this and that and everyone gets to choose his or her own food. It makes the younger ones feel big and important too.

Your menu plan sounds so delicious.

You must be very proud of your son. My hat goes off to him for chosing to pursue law enforcement.
