Win a Mini Moment with Dove Ice-cream

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.

What do you think about Dove Chocolates? I don't know very many people who haven't tried them. Did you know that Dove also makes ice-cream? DOVE® Ice Cream Miniatures are a great way to indulge. They're ice-cream wrapped in Dove Chocolate. The new cafe Collection includes Java Chip and Cappuccino flavors. I love chocolate - I love ice-cream - I love contests. I also love to pass on information about contest opportunities as I learn about them.

The homemaker of today is so different from the homemaker of yesteryear. Many of us work outside jobs and then come home to another job - that of housework and caring for our families. Others of us run home businesses and try to balance them with housework and family responsibilities. Then still others of make caring for our families and homes full time jobs in and of themselves - growing food, home educating children, etc.

The one thing all of us have in common is that fact that we are so busy caring for those whom we love that we neglect to take care of us! As unselfish and wonderful as that sounds, it's not exactly the best thing to do. We can begin to feel used and unloved by our families. We can sacrifice to the point of feeling ugly and unlovable. We can also get sick by wearing ourselves down. None of these things are beneficial to our families.

I am beginning to take steps to take care of myself without neglecting my husband and children. For instance, I have started coloring (with a $5 box of hair color from Meijer) my hair again. The gray in it was making me feel much older than I really am. I felt dowdy and unattractive. The tiny step of dying my hair its natural brown gave me a big boost and it feels GOOD!

Dove Ice Cream learned the importance of me-time when they surveyed more than 400 mothers and found out that more than 70% of them are taking those important steps of taking time for themselves.
Do you have a me-time that works for you? If so, you might consider entering the "My Mini Moment" contest. Up for grabs is one of three terrific mini-grand prizes: a mini-getaway to Napa Valley, spa services for a year, or mini-home makeover. Submit a photo and a short essay that shares your favorite mini escape moment to enter. That's fairly easy - the worst part is that you only have until June 7, 2010 to do so.

Best wishes for winning!
