Today I had an opportunity to talk in length with a pet food store owner concerning some of the new (and old) dog foods on the market. What she had to say really surprised me. It seems that the trusted "premium" dog foods of the past are not trustworthy - or safe. You absolutely cannot think that just because a pet food is expensive it is good.

The store owner gave me a huge bag of dog food samples - all of them natural with NO copper sulfate or other known toxins in them. There's no salt and corn syrup either. You're saying, "Salt and corn syrup -- in dog food?" Yeah, that's what I said.
