I have finally finished gathering curriculum for this coming school year. We begin school on Labor Day because my husband is working and it just seems to be a good time to start. I made it a goal this year to get all of my curriculum (for just three students this year!) as inexpensively as I could. Here is the result:

The Michigan Department of Resources, in partnership with the Library of Michigan, has a program going to help you enjoy the great outdoors. It's called "Park & Read." Go to your public library, grab a good book, and ask for a Park & Read certificate. You'll get a free day pass to any state park in the system. Go here for more details.

We went to Burt Lake State Park in Indian River a few days ago and enjoyed a nice picnic with sea gulls.
