Lynn is hosting Thankful Thursday this week. Please hop over there to visit a lot of other thankful blogs.
This has been and continues to unfold as a week of blessings. I get so very weary of our struggle with finances that it often makes my stomach hurt. I had these nasty 10 year old pair of tennis shoes with holes in them and wanted/needed new ones. Would I buy them? NO! Why? Because we couldn't afford them. Yesterday, my neighbor came bringing me a brand new pair of New Balance tennis shoes in my EXACT SIZE! They fit perfectly and feel wonderful! This neighbor (bless her heart) bought them and decided she didn't want them after all. She just out of the blue thought to ask me if I'd want them. God is so good to meet our needs!
Our son, Jonathon, has received an amazing amount of support money for the missions trip to Mombasa. He will leave in just under 2 weeks. This, in itself, is such a work of God. We are the family that considered it such a long shot to collect such a vast amount of money. We left it in God's hands and, again, God moved mountains! I figure it is in His plan that Jonathon go on this trip. Please continue to pray for the mission to the street kids and for our teens and volunteers to be safe as they minister.
The brakes on our van went bad (again!) this week but, praise God, we are still safe and they are once again working. We need a better vehicle but, for some reason, this one continues to get us from here to there during this waiting period.
So, thank You, Lord for Your blessings, for safety, for all that You give us. I will continue to lean upon You, for there's no one else like You. Amen.

what a wonderful neighbor I believe used as a vessel of God who knew that due to finances you may not do for yourself
Great list Rita!
Isn't it great when God meets a need by using friends to do it?
God bless you, and especially Jonathon as he goes on his missions trip.
Sounds like God has you covered! How cool your son in doing missions! We do Honduras, I have went the past 5 years with my husband. 2 years ago our youngest (now 19) started. We fell in love with those kids and I will go as long as God says Yes.
Thanks for the contest! :)
Best of luck to your son on his missions trip! My prayers are with him for safe travels!
