Aloha Friday - April 10
I've searched high and low for an easy meme to do on Fridays. This looks like a great one. You can play along too by going to An Island Life to add your link.
What makes Aloha Friday fun - and easy - is that we just post a simple question and ask people to answer it in the form of a comment. I told you it's easy!
Easter is my favorite holiday because it is all about Jesus, or at least that's what it is supposed to be about. Commercialism and atheism has made an effort to diminish Christ and the celebration of a Christian holiday by making the Easter Bunny, colored eggs, and candy more important than the resurrection of our Lord.
It really doesn't matter to me how the world decides to spend Easter Sunday or even that we do color eggs and eat candy. We attend church and worship the Lord and reflect upon His great sacrifice and finished work on the cross. We celebrate His resurrection. We stress it to our children. It's what is in your heart that matters, not the hype everyone else puts out there.
My question is, do you color Easter eggs and/or fill Easter baskets?
I think I already told you that we do color Easter eggs and give the kids each an Easter basket. We don't tell them it's from the Easter Bunny, though. We just tell them it's a gift from us to them.

Nope, not anymore. We did when the boys were little but they're 15 and 19 now and, truthfully, the coloring of eggs is something I'm happy to be done with. I never enjoyed it. I did like filling their Easter baskets!
Hey, why don't you come join us for "Friday Shoot-Out"s?? You'd love it and we'd love to have you join in the fun. Each week someone in the group picks a different subject and we all photograph around our town around the theme. The only rule??? There are NO RULES, which makes it a blast.
Think about it won't you please?
We have Brasil, China, Hawaii, Toronto, Manila, Japan and all over the U.S. represented. Let me know!!
Hey, my kiddos are all grown, but if I ran out of candy, I just put beer in their baskets. I don't know why they keep yeling about rehab....Prince and I paid for it
(okay, I'm totally kidding, lol).
Hope you and your's have a happy Easter and.......

This year my kids are 22 months old... so I'm planning to do their first egg hunt. I'm just going to dye real eggs because I don't want any candy involved when they're so young. :)
Yes, I am boiling eggs right now to colour later on this afternoon. And, I do baskets as well:)
This year will be the first year that my kids will have Easter Egg hunt and baskets.. I'm not quite sure what I will do yet lol
Dropping by to wish you a Very Happy Easter!

We do eggs & a basket. I love to color the eggs now that I've found these little q-tip like things that are filled w/ color. We just decorate that way. Less mess.
We color eggs and do Easter baskets but my kids are fully aware of the reason we celebrate Easter.
I plan to color eggs this year with my grandson.
My kids are little (7 and 3) so we do the whole egg/basket thing. They are also learning the real meaning of Easter.
We color eggs and do the baskets! Always making sure that our children know the real meaning behind the holiday. Have a blessed Easter!
No we don't, but they will be getting baskets from Nana Terri this year.
I don't anymore. We all did when the kiddie's were small. But, they are often busy without us now...and this year I have been very busy as well. We will all be together on Saturday and Sunday but it will be sans eggs.
still enjoy coloring eggs but, with grandkids this year. I don't do Easter baskets although my daughter was broke and couldn't even afford baskets or a little bit of something for the girls. So Mimi and Papa to the rescue.. I provided the easter egg dye, the baskets, the grass and the candy so the little kiddos could at least have something on Easter morning. We will take them to church Sunday morning if we have to. We love those grandkids!
Easter is my favorite. It's about the resurrection of Jesus and God's seal of approval. The story is incomplete without Easter.
We used to decorate eggs with our sons (now 47 and 41). We also gave them (and ourselves) Easter baskets. No bunny.
We haven't colored eggs for a couple of years now. My kids are only 11 and 14, but they don't like the mess of coloring any more than I do.
They sometimes go to the neighbors and help with younger kids or even to grandmas.
I really have never enjoyed coloring the eggs- even as a kid. But my mom always has enjoyed coloring eggs. My Mom still colors eggs and she just entered her 70's.
Thanks for asking.

We color eggs. . . just because it's fun I guess!
We hide baskets. . . and talk about how we can search for Jesus, the Ultimate Treasure.
We also do Easter Story Cookies, which I posted about for my wordless wednesday post this week. I think this one is my favorite!
Gotta go now, time to hide the baskets. :)
