Saturday Scripture Speaks - Exposition

I wasn't going to expound upon the verse I chose for this week's Scripture Speaks, but some readers asked me to. I consulted with my husband tonight and he told me that I should tell people why the verse I chose is special to me. So I will do so.

Revelation 3:10 "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth." (NIV)

I spent the week trying to make sense out of personal attacks against me. See earlier post. I have come to the conclusion that there is no excuse for sin and there is no reason that I should feel guilty for being honest.

Revelation 3:10 is a verse that I've mediated upon and one that gives me peace. I will go through trials such as false accusations. I will find that at times I will have to choose between standing up for the Gospel or watering it down so as "not to offend someone." I will "endure patiently" for Christ. The "hour of trial" referred to in Revelation is speaking of the Great Tribulation. The verse is spoken to genuine Christians and it tells us that we will not have to go through that horrible time of testing. I believe it means we'll be taken to Heaven (raptured) just before that hour comes upon the earth. It is truly a great promise to those who believe.

Well said Rita! There is something to be said about a person who not only "believes" a certain way, but lives that way as well. Great post!
