One More Recipe
This is what we did today while my husband worked. This is his "busiest day of the year." Thought you might enjoy this, my mother-in-law's recipe.
Soft Sugar Cookies
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup lard (I use butter instead)
4 cups or more of all-purpose flour
Mix ingredients together. Add 4 cups of flour or more, until dough can be spoon dropped on greased cookie sheet. If you'd like, add more flour and roll to 1/2 inch thickness & cut with cookie cutters. Bake 7-10 minutes in a 375 degree preheated oven. (cookies will be set and no longer look wet - do not brown completely) Ice with powdered sugar icing when cool.
