Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.” ~ Psalm 30:4 (ESV)
I keep thinking about all of the disagreements in churches over music. Some say it has to be all hymns. Others say we should do away with hymns and sing modern worship and praise music. Others say a blend is good. A lot of Christian churches have split over this issue. That's really sad. I think that God loves all music when folks are singing to God's glory. I also think that He loves to hear us sing even when we think that our voices are not "good enough."
Today I'm thankful for:
- A warm house
- A family to spend Christmas with
- Friends who give of themselves unconditionally
- Safety when traveling on really bad roads
- God's love and forgiveness

Very nice thankful post.
Amen... Singing to God's glory and not our own... Neat site. I am so glad I stopped in for a visit.
Happy TT and Merry Christmas.
God loves all music. Hymns and spiritual songs are used to praise and to worship God. Different churches inclined to different practices. If the main purpose is to provide the best form of worship, then it's praiseworthy. But if it is used because of self-indulgence and because the congregation likes it, then it is horrible.
I loved your list and yes I do believe that if the holy spirit is to come and abide then the music has to be for his benifit and used as worship
It seems the most logical thing to do would be to compromise and have a variety of music even if someone doesn't seem to get that God loves all types of music from our hearts meant to worship and praise Him.
Your list is great. I love making lists of positive things to focus on. It helps to keep life in perspective.
