Book Review: Two Renegade Realms by Donita K. Paul

Two Renegade Realms is written by Donita K. Paul and is published by Zondervan. This book is second in the Realm Walkers series and is categorized as teen fiction.

Not having ever been a huge fan of fantasy or science fiction, I was a bit skeptical about this particular series. I had heard of Donita K. Paul - there were some good things being said of her. I decided that this just might be an exceptionally good story in spite of the genre. I was right.

I confess that I did not read the first book in the series, so I learned what I could from the prologue of this second one - and from the story itself. The Realm Walkers Guild is a corrupt one that waged an attack on a good realm. It has now been three years and the main characters: Cantor, Bixby, and Dukmee have been searching for any secrets that might save their realm from an invasion that would destroy them. In their searches they find that Chomountain might be alive, so they go on another search to find him. Along the way they meet an old man who simply wants to fish, yet he might have the answers they need.

This is a story of action, dragons, a certain mystique, and all of that which makes for a good fantasy story. My teenage daughter is about to start reading Two Renegade Realms and I am happy to let her do so. There's a greater story within that I'll let you uncover for yourself.

*I received a copy of Two Renegade Realms in exchange for my honest opinion.*
