Saturday Scripture Speaks

The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.  Psalm 69:32 (NLT)

I don't know about you, but I feel discouraged a lot lately. The time of the year when our family feels a huge financial crunch is upon us. Paychecks are down (my husband is paid on commission) and food and gas prices are on the rise. We are discouraged because our health insurance costs are going up while the benefits are being greatly reduced.

As a side-note: The current administration is bragging about their strides in healthcare coverage for all Americans. The idea that the few who are working will be able to pay for the majority who are not is ludicrous. We're all hurt by socialized medicine. If you want things to change, you have to get out there and vote in a few weeks.

Sin is running rampant all over the place and the Church is saturated with people who look the other way while their brothers and sisters in the Lord are being deceived into believing that it's "not a problem" to live like the devil. That makes me quiver inside - I drop my head and wonder, what's next?

The Bible holds precious promises such as the one above. The secret to this promise is prayer. Seek God's help and be encouraged. God is in control. Satan doesn't win in the end. God is at work and what He does is perfect and right.

Friend, let me encourage you to pray and to seek the Lord. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (NIV)

God is not hiding. He simply asks that you turn to Him and spend as much time as you can with Him. He's your best friend, your heavenly Father, your all in all. Desire righteousness - holiness. He has so much to give you - you just have to want it.

Life could be very hard somrtimes. But our Lord is our Source, Healer, Provider and Savior. Help is from Him. I live one day at a time now putting my life in the hands of our Lord confident that He will take care of my every need. Thank you for this encouragement, Rita. May God bless you with overflowing.
