Book Review - The Beauty Book by Nancy Rue

The Beauty Book is written by Nancy Rue and is published by Tommy Nelson.

The Beauty Book is just the book for which I'm been searching for quite some time. It is written for girls 7-11, and my daughter is rapidly approaching that 11 year mark. Little girls these days are not so much different from little girls in my day. I can remember comparing myself to others. I was skinny, short, and a late bloomer. I felt I wasn't popular enough. I hated being smart because the pretty girls didn't seem to be so smart.

This book addresses a lot of these issues. Nancy Rue uses modern preteen language as well as tons of Bible verses (from the msg) to get her point across. And the point is this: God made each girl beautiful and unique. He loves them all. Our daughters need to learn to love themselves and stop trying to be somebody God never intended them to be.

Also addressed is personal grooming. Gotta love that. More importantly, having a beautiful and loving spirit is stressed. I love that the most.

And I love that this book is personal. I am letting her write in it, sort of like a diary. There are lots of pages to do just that. This is a book I intend for her to keep and read over and over again. I recommend it to anyone with a girl who needs that extra boost of God-love - the kind that transforms an average girl into a princess, daughter of the KING!

**I received a copy of The Beauty Book in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.**
