Defunding Planned Parenthood - Should We?

We've all been hearing a lot about Planned Parenthood and the proposed defunding of the organization. I've heard both sides of the issue and I made my decision - Planned Parenthood should receive none of my tax paid money. 

I do not say this out of ignorance. I have done my homework, and you can too. 

• Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. And guess what? They're active in other countries where they provide abortions exclusively - no other options (like giving the child up for adoption) given. Abortion is the destruction of a human being, an unborn baby, usually by tearing it apart limb from limb. A decision to keep funding for Planned Parenthood without a fight is, in essence, a vote in favor of killing babies. (AFA)
• Planned Parenthood counsels young girls, under the age of 18, to get abortions, even to the extent of trying to get away from the requirement that many states have against minors receiving abortions without parental consent. (Planned Parenthood) They said, "If you are under 18, your state may require one or both of your parents to give permission for your abortion or be told of your decision prior to the abortion. However, in most states you can ask a judge to excuse you from these requirements."
• Planned Parenthood has a huge budget and the majority of "contributions" comes from working class America - in the form of tax money. Other donations come from fundraisers and wealthy donors - you'll be shocked to see that some of your favorite celebrities give of their time and money to Planned Parenthood. Author Judy Blume is a big-time supporter of Planned Parenthood. My daughter will not be allowed to read Ms. Blume's books.
• 2009's form 990 (Planned Parenthood's Public Disclosure) is on their website. As taxpayers who send the organization money, we all have the right to review this form - not only the right, but the responsibility.

Do you doubt that Planned Parenthood provides and encourages abortions? Do you doubt that they make an unborn baby seem like a blob of yuck? Watch the You Tube video that they have on their website. They want you to think that abortions are fun. Watch the first girl's face - she's all smiles, and, by the way, her mother brought her in! Listen to the clinic worker say they'll "gently empty your uterus." They don't tell you that they will literally rip a living baby into shreds. They don't tell you that you'll likely have flashbacks of this event years and years later.

Please pray for the decisions our government is making on our behalf. Please pray for the unborn babies who are murdered daily. Please pray for mothers-to-be who don't understand the truth. Donate your time and money to crisis pregnancy centers rather than Planned Parenthood. Put your arm around a pregnant teen and help her through the hard times. 

If you are facing an unintended, unwanted pregnancy, PLEASE, give your baby life. Don't let him or her be just another statistic. Your child will be with the Savior forever, but how about you? Can you live with yourself years later? Many people are waiting to hold your child with aching hearts and arms - many people cannot have children of their own. Nine months of carrying a child is nothing compared to the years and years of life and love you can give someone else.
