Carpets

There was a time when nobody had carpets. In fact, their floors were made of dirt! Can you imagine sweeping off a dirt floor? Talk about a dust problem. One thing's for sure, though. Mothers probably didn't get so upset about their children dropping crumbs of food or spilling milk on the floors!

We have decided that we must steam clean our carpets at least once a year, preferably twice a year. We went to Lowe's the other night and rented a Bissell cleaner for $39. For that, we got 24 hours to clean our carpets and return the cleaner.

I was shocked at how much dirt and grime came out of the carpets. I was even more shocked when I found that the majority of the "stains" actually came out. In three days they have not resurfaced. I am especially pleased to find that the house still smells good after the three days. Dirty carpets really hold in a lot of yuck.

I'm still debating the issue of buying a carpet cleaner as opposed to continuing to rent one.

Man do I remember carpets. I used to have to clean ours once a month due to allergies of the kids. I love this house in that finally outside of Zekaryah's room which is the loft we have no more carpets. Now if I can just get all the wood floor sanded and stained/resealed I will feel much better if people ever come over..:-)
