Saturday Scripture Speaks - Conquer Evil with Good

I haven't been as faithful posting here this month due mostly to my participation in NaNoWriMo. I was sick this whole week too - I'm sure it was nothing more than a bad cold virus because I never had a fever. My two youngest children also had it the same time; again, no fever just lots of miserable stuffy heads and noses.

Lately, I have been thinking about all of the evil in the world. There's a lot of it and it can be so overwhelming at times that a person just wants to dig a hole and hide in it until Jesus comes back and wipes all of those bad people off the face of the planet!

Romans 12:21 says, "Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good." (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Evil comes straight from the enemy of our souls, Satan. He wants us to believe that there is no hope. He wants us to believe that the people who are causing us grief (because of their sins) are beyond hope of salvation. He wants us to stop praying for those people.

Do not let evil win! That's what God is saying in Romans 12. We already have the weapons to fight the war on evil and win. We have the Holy Spirit to lead us - we have the Bible to teach us - we have Jesus Christ who saved us. I would say that evil is outnumbered.

Let me encourage you to keep fighting the good fight. Don't despair. It might look bleak for a while but it won't always be so. The book of Revelation tells us that someday, for all of eternity, we're going to gloriously happy.

I'm looking forward to that.
