Iris is hosting for August so be sure to go there to link up your Thankful Thursday post and to read others.
We've been blessed beyond belief this week and though I'm not outlining everything that's happened today, I will be sharing later on.
This week, as always, I'm thankful for the little things and the big things. I have more friends today than I thought I would ever have over a life time. Praise the Lord, because it is only through His grace that a shy, unpopular farm girl would ever grow up to find so much love and acceptance from others. As great as that is I remind myself daily that none of that matters so much in the long run - what matters is that Jesus Christ loves me and accepts me into His kingdom through the faith I've placed in Him. Thank you, Jesus!
This summer has been a disappointing one as far as our garden goes. Still, I give thanks for the harvest that we have enjoyed thus far. Every little bit helps and we will trust God for provision through the winter. He has not failed us yet and I know that He will not fail us in the future. His Word promises that much.
What are you thankful for? It's important to share with others and to remind each other that what blessings we enjoy are not of our own doing. It's from God above.

It's been 51 years since HS graduation and looking back, those were difficult years for many of us. Relationships have changed as we have grown and matured.
Our garden here has not done as well either. We did get enough green beans to take care of our needs. Zucchini has been particularly disappointing.
It is even more amazing that the (former) shy farm girl and the (former) wild city girl are so close now...isn't it?!?
Everything happens in God's time!
Your comment of the Lord providing reminds me of the times when my children were little, and often times there was just too much time left at the send of the paycheck. Grocery shopping would not be in the list of possibilities. But God did always provide. We called it the magic refrigerator. It was really God just allowing me to make full use of the creativity He gifted me with to come up with meals from what was available. It always worked!!!!
Hi Rita,
He has not failed us yet and I know that He will not fail us in the future. His Word promises that much.
Girl, Amen.. amen... amen... BIG hugs
So glad you had a good week! Happy Thankful Thursday
May the Son continue to shine in your life.
Thanks for reminding us that the "blessings we enjoy are not of our own doing. It's from God above." Sometimes we forget that and think it is all by our own efforts.
God bless and have a great weekend!
Thanks for sharing your thankful heart with us. May God continue to bless and guide you.
