We watched The Last Sin Eater last night. Francine Rivers wrote the book from which the screenplay was derived. I must tell you that I absolutely loved this movie. I guess it might not be so hot for the youngest of viewers since it has some frightening images (sin eater in black cape and hood who "whooshes" by the people and eats up the sins of the departed, dead bodies, mass murder of Native Americans in a settlement, etc.) but kids from pre-teen on up should be more than able to handle the rougher parts.
What blew me away was how well this movie was done and the wonderful salvation message portrayed throughout. So....if you're interested in these types of films, go out and rent The Last Sin Eater.
