Summer is here and many areas of the country are seeing very high temperatures. When it gets hot, a slow cooker can do the job of cooking your meals while keeping excess heat out of the kitchen. In addition to the slow cooker, microwaves are good at keeping the kitchen cooler while preparing a hot meal. Then there's the barbecue grill, but you will have to go outside - into the scorching heat - to cook your food. As for me, however, I prefer to not cook at all. Raw fruits and vegetables are the best sources of vitamins and minerals and they don't require using heat by any means. Eating raw fruits and veggies also means having a less acidic body, for which we should all strive.
