Your Facebook Profile and Otrib

Do you have a Facebook account - and often wondered what will happen to that account if you should die? That's a question many people have asked. Countless others have actually had to deal with that subject when their family members passed away, leaving their Facebook accounts behind.

This is a dilemma with which Otrib is effectively dealing. According to their website, this is how it works:

  • Name an heir for your digital assets
  • Describe how your Facebook account should be managed upon your death
  • Help your next of kin save time and money by automatically
    - Sending out death notice to friends and family
    - Creating a tribute page / interactive online obituary
I know that this sounds like an insensitive subject, but it really is a pertinent one for us to ponder. When a member passes on, they leave behind a profile that nobody can touch. By leaving behind a "virtual will", we can make one thing a little easier for our survivors.

Just something for you to think about.
