Thankful Thursday - July 15

Thankful Thursday is once again hosted by Lynne at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. I hope you'll give her a visit. Boy, I'm sitting here trying to think up reasons I should be thankful this week and am having a difficult time. Tonight the carafe for my brand new coffee maker broke - glass everywhere. I did nothing to provoke that. Calling the store who sold me the appliance and calling the company who made it did nothing - nobody stands behind their products anymore! I'm giving them until tomorrow to at least let me buy a new carafe - shouldn't one be able to at least purchase replacement parts for something they buy? Grrrr.

It's times like these that really test me as a Christian. How do I present myself - and more importantly, Christ - before others? Do they see the Jesus I profess to serve or do they see me - a sinful creature in need of saving?

This week I'm thankful that I still have the opportunity to shine the light in the darkness. Jesus is coming back really soon and I may not have the chance to witness to others too much longer.

I'm thankful that my garden is producing some food for the table and for the freezer. Sugar Snap Peas are especially proficient. Ground squirrels (gophers) are making a mess of the shell peas. They have uprooted much of the crop by burrowing underneath the rows. They're also eating the peas by chewing off the bottoms of the pods and sucking out the peas. I go to pick peas and find empty pods with chewed off ends.  Grrr. Still thankful for the garden, though. :)

I'm thankful for the extra money my husband is making at work. Sales have been good this summer on the new route. Praying it stays that way.

Have a great Thankful Thursday!

I can relate..sometimes it's hard for me to control my self and I admit sometimes I slipped, I do understand though that I am a work in progress..

Keep your light shining!!

That happened with my blender once, and what I did was write them a letter. It's generally more effective than a call, though I agree with you that they shouldn't make it too hard for customers to get their due. Maybe an email will do. Something like this might help get results.
Here's sharing my list with you.

Thanks for being thankful, even when it is not always easy.

What? No coffee?! Broken carafe? Say it's not so! Even the peas are missing from the pods. Yet, I will still Praise my GOD! Even in the midst of the storms He is still God and will see you through!
Hope you see the LORD working mightily for you today!
Love,

Julie
