Thankful Thursday - March 11

Boy do I have a lot for which to be thankful this week! I got to spend THREE glorious evenings at the You Were Born for This conference with Dr. Bruce Wilkinson. We went through two of what he calls "keys," the miracle key and the master key.

I think it's important that Christians realize that we were not put on this earth to do nothing but bask in our salvation. We are here to glorify God, yes. To glorify is to give credit where credit is due - God gets the credit. But for what does He get that credit? And where do "good works" come into play - the apostle Paul did state that we are to do good works. There can be no question about that, but a whole lot of people fear the good works part of Christianity. They feel that it somehow threatens what Jesus did on the Cross.

When you understand that life is so much more enriched by the good that we do for others - the miracles (meeting needs)- you want to jump for joy. God has put us here for a reason!

My heart was so blessed during these past three days when I saw so many older people, so many younger people, so many in-between people decide that they truly want to be used of God to accomplish great things for HIS GLORY!

I'm still on a spiritual high....can you tell? The one thing that saddens me, though, is the fact that I am in the wasteland right now - I am going through trials that prevent me from accomplishing much. Yet I'm being prepared and taught and when the time comes that the trial (mostly financial) is over, great things can happen in my life and in the lives of those to whom I can minister.

While I'm in this wasteland, however, I am convinced that I can, and do, minister in small ways, just as Joseph did while in prison - his wasteland. He ministered to the chief cupbearer and the chief baker while they were in prison together - interpreted dreams.

I have had what Dr. Wilkinson calls "God nudges" and "Spirit prompts" many times. Sometimes I've followed through. Many times not. Examples would be when the Lord brought to my mind that I should DO something for someone. When I do obey and call that person or whatever, I find that although I was uncomfortable at first, God gets glory! Isn't that what it's all about?

So.........this Thankful Thursday I want to say, "Thank you, Lord, for all of the miracles we can bring about for others, in order to give You glory!"

Thankful Thursday is meeting at Women Taking a Stand this week.

Joel 2:25, 26 became precious to me after coming out of my wilderness. May you be blessed this day.
