My dad had surgery on his back today and I am told that he is doing okay. He is still in the hospital tonight but, if he's able, he will go home tomorrow. I live 5 hours away and our van is still giving us fits. I couldn't get there if I wanted to. My prayers and phone calls will have to suffice. Could you join me in prayer as well? Thank you in advance.
We are in the midst of yet another winter storm. We must have received three inches of snow or better today - not bad for this part of the snow belt - but there might be another 10 inches by tomorrow noon. No kidding. It's what the National Weather Center in Gaylord is telling us.
Four out of my five children have dental appointments tomorrow at - you guessed it - right about noon. They are getting cleanings and x-rays. Let's hope there are no cavities. Top all that off with Brassy, Evan's golden retriever, having an appointment with the vet at the same time as the dental appointments!
Ugh.

When life wants to pinch you where it hurts, remember to praise the Lord. His blessings FLOW!
I'm thankful for:
- Safety on the icy roads
- My dad's safety through surgery - he had a major heart attack a few years ago and his heart was one of the concerns today
- My mom is of good cheer. I talked to her tonight and she was actually very glad to be home alone (except for her cats). She's enjoying the quiet.
- I have children whom I can take to the dentist (and doctor). Many, many women long for children. I have five. The Lord must think I am trustworthy enough to place them in my (and my husband's) care.
- I am thankful tonight for my internet friends. I have made several friends through blogging. I met one of my dearest internet buddies ten years ago (almost to the day) because of an e-mail she sent me regarding a letter I wrote to a magazine editor! Someday I hope to get to meet these people in person so I can give them a hug and let them know how much richer my life has been since meeting them.

I can't relate to the snow and icy road (I live in a tropical country). But all the rest, I can. Especially the blogging friends. We share the same thing. I'm thankful for you.

Ah your blog brought tears to my eyes. I will pray for your family- esp dad and the van struggles. I can't even read the doxology without singing it in my head. So funny to me since it has been years since I was in a church like that.:-) Wonderful reminder.

Oh Girl, I miss the snow so much.
