Thankful Thursday - October 28

Thankful Thursday is meeting this week at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. Let me encourage you to visit there to not only find other thankful blogs, but to also be encouraged in your daily walk with Christ.

Lynn asks, "What is God changing in your life?" It's a question that makes me stop and consider. What is He really changing in my life? What differences have been made over the past week, the past month, year?

Just about a year ago I had a little trouble with an internet stalker. At first I was rattled. After much prayer about the situation, I felt the best thing to do was to pray for the stalker. Little by little, the anger inside of me changed to compassion. I am still praying for this person a year later. Has she changed? I really don't know because I don't have one-on-one contact with her.

What I do know, however, is that I have changed. I no longer harbor resentment and anger. That is worth so much more to me than gold. Bitterness destroys - forgiveness (even when the other party isn't sorry) is freeing!

This week I'm thankful for answered prayers and for safety. The flu is hitting our area hard, as I'm sure it is all over the country. Thus far, our family has not been directly affected. Homeschooling helps to keep our kids away from it, but prayer helps even more. Perhaps we'll still get sick. I'm praying that if that day comes, I won't panic - the news folks would have us all in a continual state of panic, wouldn't they? I praise the Lord that He's on the Throne and I can trust Him in all things.

Our dryer is still nonfunctional but instead of focusing on the extra bother of hanging them in the house to dry, we are realizing that saving electricity is going to be a blessing this winter.

I have been attending Thursday morning Bible study and prayer with some ladies at the Community Church here in town. I used to attend a few years ago and have sorely missed it. What joy to get together for a couple of hours for prayer with older, wiser women than me!

Tonight was prayer and Bible study with our small group from the E-Free Church we attend. Again - getting together with older and wiser folks. I love it and am energized for another week!

we just don't realize it now but change actually does magic in us. as long as god is in control and we put our trust in Him, we'll never go wrong.

God bless!
