Today I did a tackle it project with my two youngest children. Okay, some of you are thinking this craft is not a big tackle, but for this mom who hates to do arts and crafts, it really IS!
We made a library book bag by taking a plain cloth tote bag (easily and cheaply purchased at any store that carries arts & crafts supplies - Wal-Mart, K-Mart, some dollar stores, Ben Franklin, etc.). Then we used stencils and permanent colored markers (Bic, shaped like Sharpies) to create colorful designs. It worked beautifully, as you can see from the pictures below.
If you do this, be sure to put a piece of cardboard inside the bag as you color. It prevents bleeding through on the fabric.
It only takes a moment to dry and VOILA! You have a beautiful book bag to carry all of those wonderful books you chose from the library back and forth.
