Thankful Thursday - May 20

Spring has finally arrived here in our neck of the northern Michigan woods and I'm SO happy about it! I love warmth and we spend so much time in the cold that I really appreciate it when heat finally blows in here.

This week I planted potatoes and, hopefully, I'll plant the rest of the garden soon.

My family has spent a bit of time in the state forest searching for morel mushrooms. They brought home a lot - in fact, I've had to dehydrate them because there were just too many to use up right away.

God has given us beautiful reminders of who He is - you can't look around you without realizing that someone very powerful had to create it all. There is absolutely no way that any of this could have developed by chance, as some would have us to believe.

Look up and you see His glory.

Psalm 19:1 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork." (NKJV)

Look about you.

"...See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Matthew 6:28-29 (NIV)

Today I'm thankful for the seasons. I'm thankful for warmer weather, for the sun rising earlier, for the birds singing and waking me.

I'm thankful for the soft breeze that whispers God's name.
