The Perfect God

I am officially going crazy. Jeff is going to be off work yet another week because of his lungs - this will make it seven weeks! Here's what happened:

He saw his surgeon this morning who cleared him for work as far as the hernia repair and gall bladder surgery goes. All of that stuff has healed. His lungs, however, are a different story.

The surgeon called our family doctor. The family doctor said another week at home is in order, along with a PFT (pulmonary function test.)

Tonight we are alone - the kids and me, I mean. Jeff is at the sleep clinic again learning to use his new sleep apnea machine. I'm told this machine will lessen the snoring considerably, so I'm looking forward to that.

So, here's the lesson for the night. When you get married, you promise "for better or for worse." That means you stick by your spouse's side during the good times and the bad, including good health and bad health.

Nobody is promised an easy life. Nobody is promised the perfect marriage. Nobody is promised the perfect house, the perfect job, the perfect anything.

What we ARE promised is that there's a perfect God who gave us His perfect Son to give us perfect freedom - freedom from the curse of sin.

If you don't know Jesus, you can meet Him today. He's ready, are you?

Your family will continue to be in my prayers. Good job on keeping faith, it isn't always easy. May peace continue to overflow within you.

Dear, I am so blessed by your faith. I'm sure God will see you through all of these difficulties. :)

Will remember you and Jeff in our prayers.

Oh no!! Sorry to hear about that. I will be praying that the lungs will heal well. It's interesting that so many people (like me!) forget about the "worse" part of "for better or worse."
