Thankful Thursday - March 26

Things are still not back to normal after my husband's surgery and PE - he has not returned to work yet and it makes for a change in the way I am used to doing things from day to day. I have a difficult time when my routine is shaken and it has really been SHAKEN for the past month. I have so much to do that hasn't gotten done that it isn't funny.

Still, I know that one thing is true:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 (NIV) This is the first Bible verse I memorized when I was a newborn baby Christian and it has spoken to me time and again over the years.

I'm thankful that spring is here (at least on the calendar) and that warmer weather - and green grass - is on its way. Spring means rain and it's in the forecast for the next few days. I'm thankful for rain! Ryan (10) has asthma and is having a particularly rough time with it right now. His doctor said we need a few good rains to get rid of the mold that the snow has left in its wake. No mold = fewer asthma attacks.

I'm thankful that our old van keeps on running - just like that old Energizer Bunny. So many times we've thought it was dead and, "What will we do?" We're a one car family. God provides.

I'm thankful that our hospital has programs to help pay for the medical bills that Jeff's medical problems have incurred. Somehow I'm not feeling stressed to the maximum with this, as I've done in the past. God is bigger than medical bills and He's taking care of it. It's going to be alright.

If we can't trust the God who made everything and who lovingly entrusts His created world to us, who can we trust?

Spiritually Unequal Marriage is hosting Thankful Thursday again this week, so please visit to find other thankful posts. It's such a blessing to see how the Lord is working in lives around the globe.

I am glad your hubby is getting better. I too know what you are going through. It take allot of energy to stay happy. And what a blessing to get help!

My prayers continue for your husband and I pray the rains come soon for your son. No comparison to asthma, but I have a true allergy to pollen, so this time of the year in Mississippi is no fun for me. We had some rain the last few days and I haven't said one bad word about my frizzy hair simply because I am so happy the pollen is tamped down. I'm so glad God is providing for your medical bills and your vehicle.

Happy Thankful Thursday!

What a great post! We had an asthma doc tell us that saline rinses in the nose will flush out irritants that lead to asthma attacks. He suggested the netty pot(sp?), when using it you pour the salted water up one side of the nose and out the other, MY kids would have LOVED this. I read someone's blog who likes routine, has learned 'plan B' to help her feel there is a plan even if it is changed or shaken (wish I would have know this with my girls when they were little-but I do say it to them now-your never too old to learn-right:)

Thank you for visiting me, Blessings to you and your fam:)
