Thankful Thursday - February 19

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”~ Psalm 28:7 (ESV)

This is my favorite meme so I wanted to be sure I got it done this week. I've not been doing well at managing my time this week so I need to do better, especially with Amanda and Ryan's schooling. The older boys are pretty much ok on their own but from time to time need a bit of assistance, especially with grammar. Why is this? HA!

The Lord truly is my strength and my shield. People are ALWAYS letting me down, even when they try so hard not to. There is only One who never disappoints me and if I fail to put my trust in Him, I fail.

This week I'm thankful for:

  • My children - I have the blessing of children and I get to spend time with them. When I begin to think that homeschooling takes too much time and that I'm quickly growing older and "where has my life gone," I need to be reminded that youth is fleeting in those kids' lives too. Tomorrow will come quickly enough and they will be married and off on their own. I don't want to have regrets as a parent.
  • My husband - As he goes into surgery Friday I'll be nervous so I'll bring my writing tablet with me and try to keep busy. I'll thank God for allowing me nearly 22 years with this man and I'll pray for many more.
  • The anonymous donor who gave almost a third of Jonathon's mission support last week. Can you believe it? Only God could work that fast and on such a grand scale! With such a good start, I have to wonder why I ever doubted.
  • Our home - Though I complain about the cold, the TREMENDOUS amount of snow (and that's no exaggeration), and the economy up here I have to stop and praise God that I even have a home. Many people do not.

We are praying for his surgery as well...wish we could be there with you during this though.

Your children are indeed a blessing from God...they are a pleasure to be around...including Joshy-poo. BTW his "littlest" admirer is missing him!

Praises will raise through all fear because fear is from the dark one and God can beat it. Children grow so fast and when they are grown they will take time to thank you for all that you do and did for them

Hi there, I will pray for your hubby. What an amazing story with your son having the money donated- very much an answer to prayer. Those are always so nice to share- so nice to see Gods Hand in things.
Many blessings
